Ain't never made one of these but I was bored.

The steel is 78 layer 1095 /L6/ 15n20, deep etch and polished, full tang.
Wood is leapard wood with buffalo horn spacer.
Blade is 7.250" from guard to tip and it's 12.375" overall
Thank You:)

Yes Larry, I found a piece of random I had made about a year ago and I'd always wanted to make one of these.I'm pretty sure your's will turn out just as well:thumbup:
47, the scales and the handle were split from the same block of wood, making sure there is a good flat fit for the two halfs. The blade shape is traced off on each side and using a milling machine to hog out most of the material. The rest was cut out to shape with a knife. Tiny holes were drilled around the perimeter of the blade seat on both halfs, for better bonding with epoxy, being careful not use too much that it seaps into the inside.

Thanks all

That is a truly beautiful piece. I really like the unity of materials and the little bits of file work and carving to set it off.

Thanks for the comments all:thumbup:

But the more I look at it ,the sash or belt loop on the scabbard kinda' reminds me of a drawer pull on a kitchen cabinet:D
