Hi, folks.

I took a chance and bought a knife I've had my eye on for a while.

An Eafengrow 456 Tactical

I have to say, I'm very impressed! The blade is D2 steel and it passed the paper cutting test with ease- MUCH better than my Freeman and my Ghostrike.

The handle fits my hand well. It is not spring assisted, but it locks in to place with a solid flick of the thumb. There is no play once the blade is locked open. Also, I haven't noticed any tool marks anywhere. Tool scratching is often seen on cheaper "knockoff" knives, but I'm happy to say this knife has none.

Anyone else with Eafengrow experience?

Let's see - blatant clone of a ZT knife, even down to the same model number? Um, no, I have not had any experience with it.

By the way - I can cut paper with pretty much any knife, even really cheap ones.

Why would I want to spend an extra $200 on a knife?

I'll save the ZT for my mid-life crisis.
You will find that the owner of this web site and the moderators here do not support clones, fakes, or ripoffs who take advantage of legitimate knife manufacturers and innovators.

You can find plenty of places on the Internet where people don't care, and are happy to support the work of intellectual property thieves. This forum isn't one of them.

As these chinese companies rip off many designers who are members on this very board you will not find many people enthused about their clone knives.

I think reddit has a forum called BudgetBlades, you will probably get a warmer reception there. This forum does not appreciate ripoffs, clones, knockoffs etc.

Btw: 250$ is not that much money to save up for the real deal knife. The reason to get the real one is the quality difference is worlds apart.

The Ruger LCP is basically a copy of the Kel-Tec P380.

AR-15 manufacturers copy each other all the time.
So, what?

Well, I for one won't be able to see what he does learn, if anything. On the ignore list he goes.

This is not entirely due to his affection for Ripoffs/Counterfeits, but primarily due to his ignorance and blatant disregard for the rules to save a nickel.

OP: You're right, your knives have no further bearing on me.

Rest of us: Don't worry the Mid-Life crisis should be around any moment, he says he is 51.

You can make this argument on various gun enthusiast websites, but guns are not the subject here.
Understand that it's exciting to get a new knife..that's great.. But also understand, despite your feelings on the matter that this is an enthusiast site that supports authentic works in the knife world.
Knocking off others intellectual property is easy.. The original work is the innovation that drives the market..
It's hard to continue to drive the market with new products when Joe Schmoe over there knocking off your work and selling it at a fraction of the market price. Taking advantage of not only your work, your advertising, your R&D time and in some cases, lost revenue through lawsuits to stop the theft.
