So a few weeks ago a local knife collector walked into my shop and ask if I had a knife I could sell him to give his son as a gift for making Eagle scout he had given his son a knife every time he made a merit badge. I wanted to help so I told him yes I have a W2 take down bowie that I would sell I told him that I also had a ring guard feather fighter I would show him but I would not sell it as I had made it for Blade show and needed to have it for the show so he came buy the next day and bought this D Guard. sorry about the poor pics but they are needed to tell the storyams11.jpgams12.jpgams13.jpgams14.jpg

So I thought the deal was done. But I had made the mistake of showing him the Ring guard. a couple days later he showed up with the D guard and persuaded me to sell him the ring guard. He really wanted to give his son the best knife I had, Now I really wanted to take the ring guard to blade and show it to Kyle and John White and see if they would let me join the right way feather club:D but the collector has been very good to me in the past so I am happy to say that this knife will not be at Blade. if you would like to see the W2 D guard please stop by the ACEams1.jpgams2.jpgams3.jpgams4.jpg booth and check it out.

Great knives Dave I like the W2 and the butt cap on that knife. Right way feather club? I am glad everyone has a sense of humer about that. Gary

Thanks John and Gary, I do think there is a club but there is no wrong or right way to run a feather pattern they look good any way you run it. But I would still like to be in the club if there is one.

great story and wonderful knife.

i don't blame him. His son is part of an extremely elite group of you men. I'm an Eagle myself & i didn't realize, until a few months ago, how few and rare it is to have someone get this achievement

I agree with you, I am not an Eagle Scout but many of my brother rats are and they are some of the finest people I know

P.S. amazing knives!!

I love every part of this story except for the part about how I won't get to see the ring-guard fighter in person. Looks great in pictures though!
