Eagle Sheaths Question/Problem

Ok, my question/problem is this. I inquired with Eagle Ind about purchasing a couple of their KS-D Sheaths and I was informed that Eagle is discontinuing that product with no plans for a similar one.

Ummm, what to do?? What to do? I have read that Blackhawk is similar with a little drop in quality. Does anyone have a better suggestion for getting sheaths? I like the nylon w/kydex insert but kydex only is fine too. Who makes the sheaths for Strider and/or Rinaldi?

Strider get their sheaths from www.soegear.com Their price will be higher than an Eagle/Kabar, but it will be a custom job (you send in your knife, they send back a perfectly fitting sheath). From what I recall, the price is quite competitive when compared to getting a kydex sheath made.

I have two of the eagle sheaths for the D2 kabar extreme, and I have to say that Im not terriblly impressed with the quality. I think it could have been much better (on both that I have). I think you may do well to find someone to make you what your looking for, or find a company that has better quality. Just my opinion.

I'm having 3 sheaths made by Special Operations Technologies (SOTECH) for a set of busse combat knives. I predict they'll be equal to Eagle/better than Blackhawk. They're customs, but they quoted me $40 per sheath, much better than the price Kabar is charging for the Eagle sheaths (they bought the rights). I called SOE, but they wouldn't work with me, and Blackhawk doesn't make sheaths big ehough for Busse blades. SOTECH can be reached at 877-768-3245. Good luck, John
