I am looking for ear muffs to wear while mowing my lawn. I'd like to be able to listen to my iPhone radio as I spend a couple of hours a week just sitting on the lawn mower.

I suppose that I could just get cheap headphones and wear my earbuds underneath.

Is there a difference in looking for ear muffs that protect against high sudden noise like a gunshot v. the loud constant of the mower?

I'm looking in the $50-75 range.

I have some made by stihl they seem decent I have never used them(I won them at a lawncare expo) just tryed them on and messed with the radio. These are rated at 25db I think so they make things pretty quiet, and they are comfortable.

Check out Howard Leight. I have a pair of their electronic shooting muffs and they have an aux hook up but it looks like they make something specifically for what you are requesting.

Thanks guys. I went to the Howard Leight website and they have the Sync, which is basically 25 db ear muffs with an input and passive speakers that run off your iPod. The muffs don't have batteries, etc., and they were only like $25 bucks, which is almost the same as plain old ear muffs so I can't go wrong giving them a try.
