Early 40s at least knife

I have just come into the possession of an Original Bowie knife from at least the early 40s. The blade simply says Original Bowie. Anybody have a guestimate on what type of knife this is or if it's worth anything. (I know I do not have much info, but anything you guys can tell me would help.) I believe it is numbered but I do not have the number at this time. The handle is antler and the blade is about 8 inches.

Post this thread there, and you will be far more likely to get results. Further, without a scan or digiphoto, I suspect that your chances are very slim indeed. Walt
