Early '80's knife maker. UPDATE with pics!

Is anybody familiar with a knife maker named BYRD who stamped his blades with a simple font and the date?
The knife has BYRD 11-83 stamped into it.
I don't have pictures because I don't have the knife yet.

I plan to post some as soon as I can.

Don E Byrd , Roanoke TX.

Classic and working knives in standard patterns.

Patterns : Fighters , hunters and utility knives.
technical : Grinds ATS-34 , D2 and 440C.
Remarks: part time maker , first knife sold in 1983.
Mark: last name.

That's interesting. I wonder if this is one of his first then.
So the knife is coming back to Texas from Indiana. Nice!

Got the knife in.
A few quick pictures. My kids onesie made a good backdrop.

Handle scales are brown micarta, cloth of some sort.
It's a really stout, thick, heavy little knife. Weighs 7.1oz
Balance is at the back of the finger notch.
Fits nice in hand.

I have been researching to find, call and talk to Mr. Byrd. Sadly the latest number I found has been disconnected...
