Early AM blems for 11/13 -- no pix but more good deals.

The early morning blems are a result of Yangdu emailing me the blem info and me posting them from SEKS where the time is 2 hours earlier than Reno. Uncle is still keeping his fingers in the pot.

Blem #1 -- 15 inch 15 ounce Sirupati by Y> B> -- I think that is the ! kami. Superglue fix crack in horn handle. Delivered for 1/2 price + shipping = $60.00.

Blem #2 -- 15 inch 21 ounce BAS by Kumar. Only thing that keeps this khukuri from being 10/10 is small crack in handle that Kumar has repaired himself with Himalayan epoxy. Good rig delivered to your door for $55.00 and guaranteed for life.

Blem #3 -- 12 inch 12 ounce nice little Ang Khola by Shanker Kumar. Hairline crack on horn handle that will probably never develop. Yangdu has a real bargain price on this one = $45.00 delivered.

Blem #4 -- Neat little Balance khukuri by Amtrak kami. Horn handle. Problem is 5 minutes worth of rust on blade. Very good buy at $55.00

Gee, I sure wish Sarge would send me that Balance model once he's gotten it sharp and made a custom sheath for it. That would really be swell.

I had a nice Balance khukuri, but gave it to a friend of mine as we were headed off to Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. He and I are both Desert Storm vets, but unlike me, dang it, he got the "E-ticket" ride back in that one, got airdropped in and had to hit the ground running. Like me, he's got too much rank/responsibility to be doing stuff like that anymore, but I still didn't want him headed out the door without a khuk. The Balance is a little dog, but a fierce one in quick hands.

My condolences to those I "got the drop on" in snagging this one. Might make you feel better to know this is my birthday gift to myself. Silly and selfish I know, but might take some of the sting out of feeling 25 on the inside, and knowing the truth is I'll be turning 45 on the outside. I know Uncle Bill, just a young pup, but you don't have to work around a bunch of fresh faced lieutenants that have to constantly correct themselves from calling a grizzled old sergeant "Sir" (reckon I put 'em in mind of their dear old daddies, but it's plumb embarrasing for them and me, dadburn it).
