"Field sharp"

Would someone be so kind as to briefly explain this to me?

Sharp enough for field/bushwork but not extremely sharp. sometimes the Kami's put very sharp edges on, sometimes they make them "field" sharp for practicality, in most bush situations and for wood chopping you do not want an acutely sharp edge (think Axe/hatchet). Most villagers come with a field sharp edge.

E-mail sent on the Villager WWII. But I don't get paid until Friday. So if anyone else can pay before me, go for it. I told Yangdu it would need to wait and am waiting to hear if that's ok. So don't assume it's mine and e-mail anyway!

Been their John. I been waiting to get paid to get an M43. Paydays tomorrow and I just got back an email from yangdu from when i asked if she had any wooden handled M43s and if I understood correctly she is completely out of M43s as she asked me to check back in a month. Good luck on the villager John, I hope you get it. I'd be cryin in my beer now if I drank. :(

My 18" Villager WWII was my favorite kurk I have had yet. Great size, great weight, and would run through any task asked of it. Served me very well in the jungles of Belize this year. It actually impressed my head workman so much that I left it with him as a gift. He replaced all of his machetes that he has used all his life with 1 HI WWII! You will love the knife and I hope everything works out for you to get it! :D

John:

I'm holding off so you can get it. I have a few to play with until the next one comes along. Enjoy!

Also, field sharp in my experience tends to be a notch above the edge on most of the mirror-finish blades. Some speculate the buffing undoes the edge a bit.

Someone else beat me to the initial e-mail. So Yangdu sold it to him. Not to worry... I'll be getting an 18 inch WWII at some point.

Thanks C.S.Graves, all of us folks now have given a reason/excuse to get a Villager model - so as to make an informed comparison if all your Khuk's are mirror polished. :p  :D
