Anyone that wants to fall in love with an HI khuk, i mean REALLY fall in love, needs to pick up a villager. They are beautiful in their own right, but the soul of these blades shine out even more so than their polished counterparts. Some time on a stone and sand paper, a little stain and or linseed oil, a lot of fondling and turning the hand, and you will end up with a beautiful and functional blade that will never let you down.

I think I'm in love with that Ganga Ram. :D

Man, you ain't kiddin. If the Ganga was wood handled, I'd be all over it. I've never handled a 15" GRS, and a wood handled villager would simply be THE cat's pajamas:D:D:thumbup:

After waiting a thousand years or so for a deal of the day, I finally emailed Bill to get a villager 12 in AK.

They generally have slightly longer handles.

It is my most carried khuk.

Hope you snag it, Gary:) The 15" GRS are rare, and I would image quite useful:thumbup:

I have one, they are really nice. The handle is usually shorter than the 17's which sometimes requires a little modding but overall I think it's one of the more gen purpose lengths.

Not sure if that was an "I'll take it" by Kis. If not...

Email sent on 12 inch 12 ounce villager Ang Khoa by Ram Bhadur Kami. Horn handle. All fittings are white metal. Great camping Knife at $65 YBB.

I'll take it if available.

I tried asking for the: "12 inch 12 ounce villager Ang Khoa by Ram Bhadur Kami. Horn handle. All fittings are white metal. Great camping Knife at $65 YBB." yesterday and received that most disappointing of emails stating that it has been sold. Thankfully, Mrs. Martino said that she will let me have one for the same price and that she will ship it with my semi-custom Uddha (9" handle and 19" blade!) Sword. I can't wait till the shipment arrives, pictures will be forthcoming

Thank you again Mrs. Martino for such a great deal!

Vox...nope...I was just giving my resounding endorsement to the 12 AK villager. Old-timers here are soooo tired of my cheers for the blade size and shape that they zone out when they see I'm posting about one. :)

email...ask...solicit...beg...pray...getcha one.

You'll love its utility.

I got lucky and got the Ganga Ram - it arrived yesterday morning, and it's every bit as nice looking as the photos. I felt like a little kid on Christmas again, and almost ran out to the woodpile to test it when I got the chance. In the process of following Yvsa's suggested testing protocol, I chopped into the end of a Douglas fir log. Without putting my weight into it, the blade sank into the wood almost flush with the spine! This is one ferocious cutting machine, especially considering it's moderate size and mass! Can't wait to try some chopping out in the woods. It definitely has a home!

I'm a khukuri newbie, having bought my first, an HI M43 (seems like a lot of M43's are finding homes lately...) about a month ago. I didn't understand why you folks were so enthusiastic about the Ganga Ram configuration, but I sure do now!! I've been sopping up info from the HI website and the forum threads (been having some difficulty accessing the archives, but that may be my own ineptitude), and your suggestions/preferences/guidance has been invaluable.

A pilgrim says "Thanks"
