I got lucky last month when this one popped up on ebay BIN:

I couldn't pull the trigger fast enough! It turned out to be one of the first ten Model 8's that Rick scrimmed for the shop in 1982. In addition, those first 10 all had a 4 1/2" blade (Virtually identical to a Model 23 or a large Stanaback special with the exception it was gound out of 3/16" stock vs. 1/4" stock):
Rick was kind enough to send me a photo of another one of those first ten Model 8's that was taken shortly after they were all scrimmed. In comparison, you can see how time and sunlight turned the Westinghouse paper Micarta from almost a bleached white to a golden yellow (Love that "old yeller" handle material!):
