I picked up a early model buck 110 first version, the blade is stamped BUCK on the nail nick side, my question is about the rear bolster spacer, i assumed it would be brass but it's not, it looks like a leather spacer so any and all info about this will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Leather???

It's a real strain on my memory, but...I think I recall reading here that some early 110's had a fiber spacer...

Ah! Here it is! Thanks to Richard Matheny...Somewhere in the 64-65 timespan; hard fiber spacer...Cat 1; Version 3...Should have "Buck" stamped horizontally on the left side of the blade...

I sent a couple pictures to a fellow buck collector and he also said the spacer is fiber, the buck stamp is horizontal and on the left side of the blade, i wonder how many were made with fiber spacers? this is the first one i have ever seen

I'm not a collector...but Matheny's "Variations" sheet puts it right at the beginning of 110 versions...cast brass frame; 440C steel blade, Ebony inlay, brass rocker rivet...

Probably quite rare, since no one else here has commented on it... ;)

Tom,,,Blade guide describes it as a 2nd version 1965 , as having a bone-hard reddish fiber spacer between cap bolsters... PG 506...

Says 1st versions are a spearate piece of steel for spacer.

Just lettin ya know that the Blade Guide says.
