I came across this old Buck knife last weekend. I was wondering if anyone can give me some back ground on this knife and the value? Thanks, Chris

In '48 Buck Buck started using the model #s, so I'm guessing that yours is post '48. Red lucite handle , alumnium pommel and a carbon steel blade, probably made from an old file blade. Could definately be hand made by Hoyt Buck... Great Knife. Where did you find it?

Being a registered member asking for a value is against the forum rules, but if you want to contact me via email, we can talk. old300s@gmail.com

Usually we refer people to e-Bay for values, but it would be a long, long time before you found comparables on the Bay......maybe take months or even years.

I don't know the value on that knife. Several hundred dollars, I'm sure.....and potentially lots more on e-Bay if a few rich collectors got to bidding against each other.

Good luck.

(What am I saying? With a find like that you already have more luck than I'll ever have.)

:D

Great knife. I believe it was made between 1951 and 1954 by Al Buck. It also looks to be the original sheath. Nice find.
