Early buck lucite knives with scalers

Jerry,

You gotta get those photographed and do write up for the BCCI history, so that people can access the site whenever their mouth is dry (i.e.drool). Not kidding about doing something on the history section.......

If we ever get a DFW,Tx knife show started again we know who will win the display award.

Sue, Yes, no fake . HK, Nice early set of Buck knives from the late 40's . I second 300 on doing the write up . DM

An old machinist metalurgist taught me that whereever one has a sharp cut in steel without a chamfer, the steel is weakened. I note that all of your knives are champfered at the base of the saw tooth. I also note that the 121 scalers are not. I can only wonder if that is why they tended to break in the area of the scaler. The next 121s w/o scaler were just as thin but didn't tend to break.

Just an observation based on very limited knowledge.

Thank HK for posting your remarkable collection.

HK and Telechronos, I wish you two could get together at a show and display your collections and compare notes . Then I'd like to just look and listen . DM ;)

I think you may be on to something there. I really had not noticed the difference.

Thanks for all the kind comments.
