Part I: Ordered a grand baby chitlangi on Friday, it shipped Saturday, and got today! It's my 2nd HI khuk, and boy, what a piece. This thing is everything that H.I. has been made out to be. The spine of the blade is at least 5/16"+, so it's a real worker. I especially like the way it makes my little knife drawer smell - can't beat that nice wood & leather smell of a new knife.

Part II: Included with the knife was a postcard, showing a Nepalese (sherpa?) on top of a mountain. I assume Everest, maybe? Anyway, I turn the card over, and there's a note from Yangdu, saying that the Yahoo site couldn't process my card, and to keep the knife as a Christmas present! Well, I called the bank, raised he!! over it, and they said they couldn't see any problems. They also don't see any of my other online purchases over the last several days, so no one knows what's going on. Figures.

So, I call Yangdu, and tell her that I can go ahead and send a money order today. She insists that everything is ok, to go ahead and keep the knife as a Christmas present from HI. She said it may an issue with Yahoo, and she was glad to just let me have the knife. I told that her that in that spirit, I'd accept it as a gift from her and HI, and that I was very grateful for her gesture.

I tell you, guys, if there were more folks like Yangdu in the world, it would sure be a much better place! After dealing with the twits & trolls at the bank for twenty (fruitless) minutes, talking with Yangdu was such a pleasant experience.

H.I. won a customer for life today, and I'm sure I'll more than make up for this one in the next year. ;):D

thx - cpr

Yangdu is on my Christmas list until I am at peace/gone. The fun part is giving.

Yep, Yangdu is a wonderful lady. The amount of kindness that HI, Yangdu, and Uncle Bill have shown me over the years is incredible. As someone who runs part of a small business, I can tell you that generosity and kindness sure makes the long days of work less tiresome. It may not be the best way to a overly fat bottom line, but think about what a simple random act of kindness does for a person's day.

I can't believe how many customers of mine are flabbergasted when I cut them a deal, throw in something on top "just because", or warranty something that is probably not under warranty. It's a lesson that I learned from HI when I was a poor college student. Karma and passing on the good and kindness given to me....but boy does my "kindness" ever pi$$ off the bookkeeper:D

This is just one more reason why nearly all of my pennies in my piggie bank go to HI products:D

Now use that money you didn't have to spend on your next HI product. . .:)

 Already planning to. Just waitin' for the next 'Specials' post, although I had to promise the mrs. I'd wait 'til payday.

I'm the bookkeeper for my family, but I do answer to a 'higher authority' ;). I do have it easier than Steelyguns, I think. I can usually calm things down with a backrub & a hot cup of tea . . .

thx - cpr

I know the feeling. If i were the money person in the family, I might be able to cook the books a little more;) The holiday season means that my wife is going to go overboard gift buying (I'm included on the receiving end, so i can't gripe too much:D). I might be in the market to shark a little something after the holidays, though;)
