Were all the early Grohmann Original knives, rosewood handles marked Rd- 1958 one side & Russell Belt knife Canada on other side carbon steel?...I've read that they made some early, prototype models in SS?
Appreciate any info...
I was told by a sales rep at the NRA convention that Grohman knives were originally in carbon steel because it is better. Stainless steel was introduced later due to customer demand.
I don't know the answer to your specific question. But Grohmann has been making knives in stainless since 1957, very shortly after the introduction of the #1.
I recently saw an old Grohmann #1 at an antique store, well used, looks like it was from the 60s, didn’t say stainless on it and the sheath was just a loop attachment.
