Early Kershaw Troopers

To the best of my knowledge the trooper has always been made by KAI and KAI owns Kershaw , so the answer is KAI cutlery.

Most of the ones Ive seen are marked Seki City I believe.

Gorgeous knife.

I thought in the early days KAI contracted some of their work to local Seki City makers??? Anyone know for sure?

Hattori is the maker.

THAT'S what I was trying to find out. The early Troopers were made before Hattori launched his own brand and I knew he was making knives for Kershaw during this time, but I didn't know which models.

Oh crud, does this mean I was wr wr wr wr , well you know ?

Not really. I guess KAI is officially the maker, they just contracted out much of the work. Kinda like Solingen knives...they were very seldom made by the firm whose mark was stamped on the tang. Puma would be the perfect example. I don't think Puma has actually made a knife in at least a generation or so.
