I was among the first to get into NYCKS this afternoon. You won't be disappointed. I went to the Dozier tables first thing. Lots of terrific knives. Bob Dozier kindly signed a KaBar Dozier folder for me--something I'll carry and treasure for a long, long time. All of the vendors I talked to were happy to meet everyone and talk knives. P.J. Tomes had his usual offerings that had eyes popping. Gary Levine brought along some very, very fine customs. Paul Basch offered treasures including A.G. Russell hard-to-finds. A lot of the major designers/makers were there. I wish I had $2000 to spend. Go, and have yourself a very grand time.

Sigh.....I am living vicariously through those of that can and are attending NYCKS. Say hi to Darrell Ralph for me!! I want to see pix!!

Darrell had a couple of very tempting knives out there. I have to be careful not to spend all my Bud Nealy money on another D. Ralph first. (I really want an Amoeba, so Bud goes and makes one with gemsbok slabs, which looks great and feels even better.)

The hall is just as bad as it was the last time -- too hot, too cramped, poor lighting -- but the people there made up for it, the knifemakers and dealers AND my fellow knife knuts.

I'll be back there tomorrow.

E B it was nice sitting around the garbage talkin' with ya :D

And PJ's table has one less slip joint on it ;)

I went today, I didn't see DDR there unfortunately. I'm pretty sure it just wasn't me being blind b/c I was there a couple of hours and must have circled the place about a dozen times and didn't see him or a table covered in his knives. He was one of the makers I really was looking forward to seeing his products in person.

I heard there was a Walter Brend 25th Anniversary Modle 2 there for $2650.

Darrel had a table, and a couple of knive I really want ... I spoke with him Friday and stopped by to say hello Saturday. He didn't have a lot on display -- Combat Elite, RRF.

ooh, Then I guess I did see it. I saw three combat elites, and a mad max. Out of those, nothing really turned me on though.

Oooooh, sweet about the Combat Elites & the Mad Max!! I love DDR's stuff, and many others. Anyone buy a Tom Anderson knife? Or anyone else's work? Let's see pix.

Johhny, thanks for stopping by the Dozier tables to say hello. Bob engraved/ autographed just aout all 50 of those KaBar Folding Hunters. A really neat knife at $20!

Good to see Esav, Ken C., Ebbtide, Grapevine, grnamin and a few new faces.
