Guys,

I've been carrying black handled G2 FRN Endura's as EDC's for nearly 10 years now, but at work today, a friend came through on a knife he promised me nearly 3 years ago...

It's an early Green handled PE FRN Endura, blade stamped SPYDERCO on one side, and SEKI-JAPAN on the other...no mention of blade steel.

It's my understanding that this particular knife is 12-15 years old, and is in nearly new (98%+) condition...unfortunately no box or papers.

I've only seen 3 of these in the last 10 years, the first 2 with broken clips.

Is this as rare a Spydie as I think it may be, is there collector interest, and what's a good value for such a knife.

Not that I want to sell it, but I don't want to use it either, if it has collector interest,

Thanks in advance,

Mel

Only been around spydies since aug 99, so I'm shooting in the dark here...

current factory price is 72.95usd. old models are going to be running 100usd range, among fanatics(that being pre 98, molded clip). Given that it's a special edition(one of the few green handles oldies still around) you'd be looking around 140-150usd for one in good shape. If it's just showing age in the texture of the frn and dust collection from sitting on shelves, you'd probably get 180usd+ among fanatics.

Yes collector value there. I got Olive drab in Lady Bug, Delica, Endura in PE, SE. Some are also Hunter green color. MOST ARE GOING $90.00 AND ABOVE IN LNIB-NIB

I SAY KEEP.

I sat rubbing this one with a micro-fiber cloth during the news tonight, and when I was done it was examined under a bright light...

It appears to have never been used or resharpened...what I originally thought were wear marks are actually just the 'rough cut' tooling marks on the locking bar of this early knife...Spyderco finish sure has improved over the years!

It may have been carried a little, or just bounced around in a sock drawer over the years...nonetheless, it's very clean, and still stiff.

A very cool knife, and one that will surely end up in the collection of a Spyderco fanatic someday...lol

Thanks again guys,

Mel

p.s. Ceya, do ya have that AMK for us yet? ;)
