The info I gathered indicates that this knife was made between 1968 (intro of swinging belt loop) and 1978 (started using letters for date codes). The knife has not been sharpened, but does has some light surface rust. The right side of the guard looking down from the spine reads "W49".
The left side reads:
WESTERN
BOULDER, COLO. U.S.A.
