I was just curious, Is the earlier WW2 Camillus (blade marked) more sought out by collectors than the later versions? I have the blade marked version(pictures attached). It was my grandfathers and I would love to know what kind of treasure he left me.

I really don’t know the best thing to say regarding the value of the knife you have. Prices vary for a variety of reasons. The condition of the item is one factor the sentimental value of the piece is another. I’ve found that what specific things will generally trade for can vary a lot depending on the region they’re located in.

I’m posting some more info on the Mark 2 type knife provided by CAMCO. Maybe this will generate some more discussion and some of that discussion might lead to more information.

The telegrams were sent to Camillus during the war when the company and employees were awarded the Army/Navy "E" Award.

"The last photo is an advertisement from Ebay for one of the knives that Camillus made for the movie "WINDTALKERS". I did the research for the knives that were used in this movie. Camillus made many of the reproductions of the WWII knives that totaled about $30,000.00."--(Tom Williams)
