I live and work in the Seattle, WA area and as most of you know, we had a 6.8 to 7.0 earthquake yesterday at 10:50 AM PST. All is well considering the magnitude. Seattle sustained some minor damage, the capitol building in Olympia had some damage too. [Is this a warning from God?] The night before we had riots in conjuction with Fat Tuesday, 70 injured, 3 LEO's injured, 2 civilians dead. At 11 AM the Mayor of Seattle, Paul Schell, was supposed to have a press conference on how awfully the SPD handled the Fat Tuesday riots [due to his and upper level management's decisions, NOT the line officers]. So the earthquake is now the headline, NOT the riots.

Anyway, just reporting that all my Emersons are present and accounted for!

...only 2 months of this 2001 and we have had natural disasters on India, Salvador and now the earthquake in Seattle...

Let's see what happens in the next 10 months!

I hope the end of the world is on july so I can go to the blade show!

Yeah, it does, but not as much as my Beretta 92FS Brigadier and 100+ rounds of ammo!

If you REALLY want to know, grab a Bible and read the books of Daniel, Revelation, Matthew 24, Ezekiel, 1 & 2 Thessalonians.... It was all written down 2000+ years ago.

"For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." Matthew 24:5-8

"All these are the BEGINNING of sorrows."

I felt the earthquake here in Vancouver. A weird experience when you are in an apartment and the building begins to rock.

My first though was... : How am I gonna carry all my Emersons? I think I have to get a BF bag or something?

Dittos what the others say about the Bible.

I live in Puyallup, WA, which wasn't far from the epicenter. My son was asleep when the earthquake hit, so I passed my daughter off to my wife and ran into the boys room to get him. I go in there, and his crib is rolling all over the place, because it is on wheels. So I grab the crib and look inside, and there he his, still sleeping like a, well, baby. I guess you had to be there, but it was really funny!.

I initially thought a jet had crashed, because we are not that far out of the flight path for Sea-Tac Airport. I have been through a few earthquakes since I moved to Washington, this was the biggest. One weird thing, after the worst of it was over, our has was just kind of floating around, like it was on ice or something. No rumbling or anything, just floated around like that for about 10 or 15 seconds. That was a weird feeling.

I had my Cammander with me the whole time!

believe it or not but i was thinking the same thing. Do you know how much earthquake activity has increased?

I forget what the equiptment is called for detecting quakes all over the world but since it was brought into action the numbers have gone up higher and higher.

You questioned [Is this a warning from God?] It's just one of them.

Dang im getting all serious here........ What's going on?????

Roger THAT Sniper308!
You can hide from a tornado, but running down into my "earthquake shelter" doesn't sound like such a hot idea.
Glad to hear everyone's alright. Seattle dodged a big damned bullet yesterday!

Brigadier!
I don't know if that earthquake was a "sign", but considering that Mt. St. Helens going off in May 1980 WAS a sign, I find it ineresting.
Did you happen to live in Seattle in 1980 when Mt. St. Helens went up. I graduated from PLU that day it went off. That happened to be the solar Pentacost of that year, fyi.
If I were you, I would be at my post watching for "strong delusion". It's closer than most people realize.

I guess Joel meant that dependable Emersons give him the peace of mind in knowing he could rely on them in emergencies.

Guns usually mean total obliteration. They can't cut you out of tight spots all the time, do they?

Ahhh... the mystique of a few inches of sharpened steel...
