Ease of deploying Inkosi vs Small Sebenza (owners of both only)

I have read mixed reviews as to which is the smoother knife: Inkosi or Small Sebenza 21. Some have stated that the thumb lug is too close on the Inkosi making it difficult to deploy. Some reviews say the 21 and its pivot bushing make it the smoothest CR while others say the oversized washers etc make the Inkosi the smoothest Chris Reeve ever.
I would like to get feedback from those of you who have experience with both. Is there a difference? Is one so much better that it has made it your go to EDC?
I'd like to pull the trigger on one or the other. Unfortunately there is nowhere that i can see either in person and Im not going to order both.

Your opinions are much appreciated!

Nick

Inkosi by far is my experience. Way smoother than the small seb I had.

I have both and the Inkosi is smoother and easier to deploy. My Inkosi is my EDC and Sebenza is a sometimes carry. I only have small versions of each so it may be different if you are talking large models. Also the small Inkosi may not fit your hand and then it does matter if it's smoother or not. You should go check the dealer list and try them in hand.

Inkosi is smoother and easier to open than the small. Double lugs, less lockbar pressure on the closed detent (if that makes sense how I'm describing it), larger cutout in the handle for the lug, bigger washers. Not that the 21 is a bad knife but if smoothness and ease of opening is very important the Inkosi wins in my experience.

Perfectly said!!!

Once broken in the Inkosi is a smooth and fun little knife.

The small 21 get's my vote.
While the Inskosi is nice and smooth, the sm 21 is at the same level.
I cleaned and lubed mine and was astonished how sooth it is.
hope this helps.

Many threads describe the Sebenza as "the standard" that really has not been improved upon. But majority in forums who have an Inkosi feel like it is the superior knife and best Chris Reeve to date. I wish I could handle both.

This is what drove me to buy the Inkosi. Nearly everyone who owns one (the small, anyway) raves about it. I should be receiving mine Thursday or Friday. I'll definitely let you know how it compares to my Sebenzas.

Yes the Inkosi is the best CRK I have handled but we are talking about small amounts. If you never handle one you would be just happy with a Sebenza 21. If it does not fit your hand it does not matter how nice the deployment is. Maybe you just need to order one from some place with a good return policy and then return it if it does not fit you. Or you can wait until a nice used one comes up for sale on the exchange and should be able to sell it for what you got it for and only be out shipping. Think of it like a rental ;)

... Sebenza set's the standard... definitely true in the sense of quality, fit an finish.
It comes in two sizes - different but same.
The optimum is always a matter of personal preferences.

There are multi bladed knives, different locks and opening techniques as fancy materials.
I like it pure, I like the Sebenza.

I'd definitely like to hear what your thoughts are after you receive yours.

I've been told that Anne Reeve has sent 1 or 2 first run Large Inkosis to a few select dealers for resale. I managed to score one just now, so I've got a small and a large on the way. I'll be sure to post some comparisons once I receive them.

Thank you! I am looking forward to it. I own a small seb 21 plain Jane clip point. Extremely happy with my purchase over a year later. The inkosi has my attention, so far.

My small Inkosi is much smoother than my small 21 Insingo. The only other CRK I have that equals its smoothness is my large Insingo. My small Inkosi was silky smooth right out of the box. I also like the small Inkosi's ergonomics better than the small Insingo's.
