Ease of Sharpening LamCos vs M390

I hear great things about both M390 and Fallkniven's LamCoS. I am buying a hunting knife for someone with limited sharpening skills and equipment. How do the 2 steels compare regarding ease sharpening? Thanks

Hey man. If I may ask, do you think that your friend will truly appreciate any added edge retention over Fallkniven's VG-10 laminate? (I assume you are wanting to get him a stainless knife.) I always find a knife far more enjoyable when it stays sharp long enough to get most jobs done, yet I know I will be able to get a nice edge back on it without much time. To answer your question directly I have had great experiences with my Lionsteel M4 with M390 steel and I have no experience with COS, but I would make the assumption that either one would potentially be annoyingly time consuming to restore with minimal equipment or skill. Just my thoughts. I'm sure your buddy will be ecstatic over whatever you decide to get him!
