Easier to sharp? Kershaw Leek or CRKT M16s?

You can get halfway to your answer by researching the types of steel. Hint: There are two grades in the M16's. Then, are you most concerned about the ability to get a sharp edge, or the ability to hold that sharp edge?

I have both a Kershaw Leek (the 440A and ZDP-189 steel models) and a CRKT M16-13M using AUS8 steel. I find the easiest to sharpen is the 440A then my CRKT, then the ZDP-189 Leek (I'm still having problems with the latter because it's so hard).

I really don't like the AUS8 steel used in my CRKT. I don't know if they don't heat treat it well or what the deal is, BUT (I repeat BUT), I LOVE the knife because it's a beater and you really can't compare the two. This is why I actually EDC both my ZDP-189 Leek and my CRKT M16-13M at the same time, all the time...

Leeks will usually get sharper I think just because their blade geometry is more acute...
