I have the satin blade (nice) and, thus, the shiny pocket clip (OK, but not low key). Is there any way to darken the color easily or should I just ask Benchmade for a black Contego clip? Tx.

You could acid etch the whole blade with pcb soultion and make it flat grey.

You could flame anodize the clip . like this

the longer you hold the heat the darker it will get like this . Just make sure to quench it.

Easiest is to pick up the phone and call them, chances are you'll get a clip in the mail within a short period of time.

The black deep-carry pocket clips from the black contego are painted and not parkerized - so they'll get scratched up. If the satin finish is the bare stainless steel, you could use a strong acid to darken it. If you want a painted clip, emailing or calling BM should be the easiest way.

You could spray paint it with something like Krylon or Rustoleum, or get your local gunsmith to spray it with Duracoat.
