Has anyone every had a problem with the original MOD knife handles scratching easily? This seems to be my main and pretty much only significant complaint about these knives. Such a shame considering they are such well built quality folders. I own the Tempest and the Hornet and had the same problem with both. Thanks for the help! :D

Not all anodized Aluminum is the same quality. Type 2 will scratch much easier than a type3 hard coated anodize. The knives are now so long gone, that it's kind of a non issue. The ones that are still newish are sitting in collector cases or safes, the rest are pretty much users/beaters or trade fodder for other newer knives. No one will or can warranty the, from what I understand due to being EOL.

I have the Trident folder and have not really noticed such a problem but I carry mine in a slipcase and always have. Plus, I don't carry it that much anymore.

Anodized aluminum is going to scratch--especially if pocket carried along with keys, etc.--over time. I'm not sure anything can really be done about it and I wouldn't consider it a 'flaw' or that it denotes anything sub-standard. Most knives that age no longer look brand new.

Over time you are going to get scratches, particularly with any kind of normal use. Just enjoy the knife. If you want to prevent further scuffing as much as possible, look into a good slipcase or belt pouch.
