East Bay

Ho, there! Anybody from the East Bay (Alameda / Oakland area) into hooking up for coffee? Or, working out to share and exchange ideas and concepts? This my first foray back into the "scene" after being out of it for 2.5 years. Am into meeting nice people and no style rivalries, please. Not into plugging or selling any arts - just getting together and meeting people. Cheers!

Look up Colin Ryan, Oakland PD.

I think Airyu or Sidewinder also has a training group up that way?

Thanks for the response. I don't know if I want to get involved with the Oakland PD, though, as I may get "marked". I prefer to be low key, if at all possible. I contacted Sidewinder although I have yet to recieve a response. If you have any more references, please let me know.

There is a Doce Pares group called the Oakland Eskrima club.

I live in Livermore. I am always interested in meeting other arnisadores. There is supposed to be a gathering of bay area eskrimadors in the near future too.

I train in Inayan Eskrima in San Jose. There are a couple of Inayan guys in Oakland who train at a Kung Fu school as well.

There are lots of folks around, the trick will be contacting them.

Hi there. I already gotten in contact with one of the Oakland people. I left it up to them if they wanted to work out and exchange techniques.

The gathering I already went to two weeks ago and hooked up with a couple of people. It was fun. I am now working out with one of the students of Serrada Eskrima.

A couple of my friends / students trained with the Inayan school and it was fun with them. They have since moved on. I was once associated with the Eskrima Digest and that was fun, too. Heard about the Inayan style from there.

If you want to ever hook up, let me know. I am pretty laid back and just want to meet people to get acquainted. Nothing serious and no worries.
