Wife and I went on an Easter egg hunt at Wolf Island State Park in the Gouverneur area today. We did not find any egg but had a great time. This area has taken a beating from the Ice Storm of '13. There are lots of downed trees, limbs, etc. on the trails and the road leading up to the trail head is impassable from roughly half a mile to the trail head. We parked and hiked in climbing over and around many downed trees and limbs. Whew what a mess and a lot of hard work to clear the road and trail. But the weather was beautiful as was the trail.

Yes. They built a string of them...interesting. I'm used to seeing only one. We were unable to get to the lake proper partly due to time constraints but also to the large tree that fell during the ice storm covering the only bridge across the stream. We did not have time to bush whack so were forced to turn back where we took the last pics of the beaver dams.
