The temperature is finally heating up around here and its beginning to look like spring and, as I'm sure anyone who has gone to a super market within the past week can tell you, Easter is this weekend. This is always a good time to get to get together with family and eat way too much food. Well, that's what my family does at least. :D This year, my family has desiganted me to making the dessert for our Easter gatherings. I'm not quite sure what to make and I'm running out of time. So I was hoping that some of you had some cute ideas that you wouldn't mind sharing. Any and all suggestions are welcome and I'll be sure to post a few pictures of what I end up making. Thanks in advance everyone.

Egg shaped brownies. With pastel colored frosting in easter ish designs.

I mean... Bacon, yeah lots of bacon wrapped bacon. Or country fried bacon...

Get a whole rabbit, stuff some chicken eggs in it, and roast it. Seems to fit with the modern Easter mascot... as little sense as it makes

My favorite dessert is Mississippi Mud Cake but I can't tell you how to make it. It is a brownie-cake like base with marshmallow on top of that and a chocolate topping.

Pineapple Upside Down Cake.
Make it a day before so the juice can get down in the cake. Good stuff, and a great spring dessert:thumbup:

Im doing low county boil tomorrow, and found a fresh 1/2 ham today that Im going to smoke for Sunday.

Beaing at the beach and I know I will be full....

Its key lime pie for desert:thumbup::)

Ken44 that cake looks awesome!

lora- if you dont make cupcakes and bring me some were no longer friends

I'm not sure that scotch would be the greatest idea for children to be enjoying, so I'll leave that for someone else to enjoy. :D Reading through here and thinking about all this food is making me hungry for tonight and tomorrow. Bacon is a great idea for breafast, lunch, and dinner, but I think that it should be avoided for the dessert portion of the meal. I am, however, going to be enjoying bacon in the multiple egg casseroles for Easter breakfast tomorrow morning. Last night, I did begin to make treats. I decided on a bird's nest theme for my food. I started with Coconut Birds Nest Macaroons. I'm fairly pleased with the way they ended up looking.

I started making bird's nest cupcakes, but I only had enough time to make and bake the initial cupcakes. Tonight I'm going to decorate them. I'm pretty excited about how they're going to turn out.

Beef, don't you worry. I'm going to bring any extra cupcakes that I have left over to work with me on Monday. :D So, I fully expect you to help make sure that they are gone.

Those look great. I love macaroons when done well. They are the one thing that I think are either the best in the world or the worst no in between. There is a Chinese place here that has some great ones, all the ones I have bought in a store are so awful I can't force myself to swallow them.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Easter Sunday!
These are the cupcakes that I made for the family gathering.
