Has anyone seen this film? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0765443/ The film is slow paced but worth watching. It's about "russian" mafia in England; film begins with a scene where a mafia type gets his throat cut with a razor while sitting on a barber's chair. There is intense/powerful knife fight scene (the main character Nikolai (Viggo Mortensen) against two Chechen killers) in a public bathroom.
 
I saw it as well....the knife fight scene in the bath house was pretty good. Overall I enjoyed the movie.
 
This director and star made another one together that is pretty cool, "A History of Violence".

History of Violence remains one of my favorite movies. When one of the losers in the beginning shot the little girl......man....I couldn't wait for him to get his.
 
I liked the movie and I was suprised by the fight in the shower. Very revealing on Viggo's part!
 
A History of Violence is not a bad film, but Eastern Promises is a better film. I suppose for those who like holywood type of films the former is more appealing, whether the latter is preferable to those who like serious, real life films.
 
seen both. I liked history of violence more. Eastern promises is too slow. I didn't even know it was the same star because they look so different.
