Part of the fun in knifemaking for me is making the tools to make knives.
Today I started on a new table for my bandsaw. I've been wanting to make a new one for a while now as I had to take my bandsaw off the table to change the blade and it was a big pain in the butt. I still wanted it bench mounted like before as I can slide a trashcan under it and it makes cleaning up easy
Drew up the design in solidworks.

Cut it out on the waterjet and mocked it up:

I will take more pics when I mill and countersink, powdercoat, and mount it to the bench this afternoon.

What my old table looked like, it served me well for 2 years but it sucked having to pull the saw off to change the blade.

I like it. The screw holes on the right mount to your bench?

After getting the counter sinks and slots done it was time to powder coat. I have only powdercoated yeti cups for Christmas a couple weeks ago up until this point. Overall I think it came out alright and is miles above what I had.

I'll trim the bolts down after I clean my garage.

Shut up and take my money!? But seriously that is brilliant and incredibly well done! I'd buy one in a heartbeat if you felt like selling a few?

I have zero interest in trying to produce these for sale. There's way too many different types of saws and swag off-road already makes them for just over $100 and nicer. I have the dxf file up there if anyone wants it. I would change the slots to holes and just countersink screws in place. It would be easier to fabricate that way and you wouldn't need a mill. I can easily modify the dxf and repost. It shouldn't be very expensive to have it cut locally. If you downloaded draftsight you could print a template and cut it out yourself. It will fit on a standard sheet of paper.

It must be strong enough to support the weight since I've seen this done before, but I have always been leery of the strength of the whole saw being held by just two screws. Is it pretty solid? Mr. Powers giving back again. I thank you every time i use my disc sander.

Good to hear. Yes it's definitely strong enough. The old saw setup had 2 screws. This saw my father in law gave me for xmas has 3. I've profiled and cut a lot of steel on the old setup. Later today I'll post a couple different dxf files for people to use.

Just received my Swag table for my Dewault Porta Band. It works excellent and is well built. Much cheaper route than buying a full on metal band saw plus they take up a lot of space. The Swag is a bench top unit.
Seems to be well built and durable but only time will tell.

I've updated the dxf file to include a version without slots. Mind you SWAG offroad makes a similar product for $54 that will fit basically any saw out there. Mine does not. If you have the same saw you can print out the file and use it as a template to make your own.
