I'm in a hip abduction brace for another three weeks. It overlaps my belt and tries to push my pants uncomfortably down. So I've given up on the belt in favor of suspenders which work pretty good. But the brace in the right place makes pocket access a little more difficult than usual, especially to reach all the way down in the pocket to get to a folder. Clip carry is once again the deal. Always was before I retired so there are a few to choose from. Benchmade assortment, Inkosi, Kabar Doziers, Spyderco. Decent knives, all of them. Got several out and tried them out with the brace on. Not really a surprise to find the original green BM 940 to work out best for right now. It's always been known to be a knife with a lot of blade that's amazingly light and compact.

I'm sure others have gone through similar circumstances or just like an easy carry knife with pocket clip. I'm interested in what has worked or still works for you.

The 940 is one of my favorite slim carry knives. I also recently picked up a Tactile Knife Co Rockwall and I am very impressed. Very usable 3” blade and absolutely disappears in the pocket. Great materials and a lot of fun to use as well.

Met a guy in a hard brace. He mounted a fixed blade sheath to it. Didn't seem a bad way to go
This thing is already in the way sitting in a chair or in a vehicle. I think it makes me look a little dangerous in a mad max kind of way. But not a good place to mount a fixed blade, as awesome as that sounds.

I would love to try one of those out. I love my Malibu’s action but am not the biggest fan of the design and ergos
The action on this thing is great, the ergos work very well for me. If you get a chance to try one out, do it!

I have the Benchmade 940 as well and have been impressed by how small it carries for the blade length. The two most similar I've tried are the We Knife Reiver and Twosun TS88, which are both slim for the size and have a similar reverse tanto blade. You can get some good deals on the Reiver right now as it's discontinued; it's slightly longer but carries really slim. The TS88 is an even better value at the auction prices they go for sometimes, plus it has an interesting mortise and tenon construction.

The Cold Steel Frenzy takes the concept of a slim long blade to the extreme, but I haven't tried that one.
