Not too long back, I purchased an Indian River Jack from Derrick and liked the knife but I found, for me, the blade set a bit deep for lousy fingernail, and wasn't quite pinchable.
I thought it would be a great EO model for conversion while it was still new.
I contacted Mr. Coats and he agreed to look at it for me. When I sent it, I also included one of the old TL29 electrician knife models to make into a single blade EO. The brown perhaps isn't seen as much as the black handled ones. Says SSC USA 204 on the tang. Guessing it's a Camillus or Schrade. The handle was pretty scuffed looking though.
Anyway - this is what he came up with. I think he did a nice job with both of them. The Indian River conversion looks perfect, and the old brown one he cleaned up and polished and made it better than new.
