Easy question re: clips

Hello there,

First post. I own a couple of BM knives, and they have the same clip, a three-screw clip that’s super tight and sits high. I also own a BM Bugout which has a looser, low-hanging clip I like better that is much easier on my pants. Are these interchangeable? I’ve got a torx wrench and I guess I could find out, but I’m the least mechanical person in the world. Unscrewing something means it might never get back together.

Thanks and cheers.

the clip for the bugout should fit anything that uses the standard three hole pattern on most bm knives. just screw the clip into the outer two holes & leave the middle one empty.

Use a good wrench (I love my Wiha wrenches) and don't crank down too hard on the screws when you tighten them, and you'll be fine. :)

Yeah you should be able to change them out. Don't mix up the screws from one knife to the other and a tiny drop of blue loctite will prevent them from coming loose.

Does anyone have an image of a bugout with the three hole clip installed instead of the factory that they could post?

I just purchased a bugout with titanium scales and I’m considering buying an aftermarket clip for it but it is a different style (3-hole clip). There isn’t an image with the clip installed on a bugout so I’m not sure if I will like it. Seller isn’t able to provide me with an image either since he no longer owns a bugout.

I really like the factory bugout clip functionally. Since an aftermarket clip is cosmetic, I need to see if that style looks good on a bugout before purchasing it.

Thanks...sorry to op for co-opting this thread.
