Hey.
I want to get more into customizing knives, especially some nice anos.

What knives would you recommend for beginners to do so? I was thinking of something that is max $300 with a titanium frame or scales with a flat surface.
Also it would be nice to find something with a titanium pocket clip, pivot screw etc if possible.

Maybe smth like a ZT0450?!

Maybe you guys have some more experience than me and would like to share it. :)

Thank you!

Well, the first thing that came to mind was the ZT; I think it’s a prime candidate for customization and it’s a terrific little knife. Of course, you’re already familiar with it.

Another one that might have cool potential is the Glow Rhino Reactor. It has tritium on both sides, which could serve as a focal point for a creative ano job. Some pics for kicks…

Check out USA made blade, they have some awesome ano’d ZTs, (which also have a lot of aftermarket parts), or you could go with a PM2, I just recently got a Cruwear edition and immediately put some flat $50 titanium scales on it. It definitely changed the knife, but I would recommend getting screws also.
Spyderco makes terrific knives, but they use cheap screws (with loctite no less, a bad combo).

It’s cool 😎 think I’ll have maybe $220 into this knife when I get some new aftermarket screws. Not bad, if this is something you’re looking to ano, and if you don’t like it, you can always put the G10 scales back on too.

Thx for all the answers. I must say I'm not a big spyderco fan. Never even had one. I will def take a look into the Glow Rhino. Kubey, Twosun, WE, Kizer, Reate look promising too

My biggest recommendation for this are Kizer's and Twosun's Ti framelocks. Kizers often get marked down to $100 when the get discontinued and they make so many new models throughout the year that they discontinue knives quite a bit. Twosun has a Ti framelock for like $80 and goes up from there. You can even get a full integral Ti framelock for $200, I have 2 of their integrals and they are awesome. Both have designs that have a lot of nice blank canvas for anoing, carving, drilling, milling etc.
