I have been working on an easy to make d-guard for a while now and this is it in its latest form. It is one piece of leather with a few holes which let it be tied on with leather or paracord. I tried to keep it as simple as possible yet be useful and easy to swap between knives of like size. If anyone has any ideas for improvement feel free to post them.

That looks like quality work to me , and the leather looks good on those slabs. My only question is if you could reconfigure the strap so it is doubled up in the talon hole near the ricasso (rather than the one at the butt -like in the pics), because I think thats where all the tension will be during use.

I love simplicity  and I think it looks great

I made a real simple one out of 550 cord for my FBM to keep my hand from sliding back, I've only had a couple opportunities to try it out put it seems to work, so far.

Thanks for sharing.

Sure, I seem to tie it up differently each time I do it. The Tejas lace is pretty tough stuff, but it certainly wouldnt hurt to double it up. :D

Good idea. I was thinking of something similar, if you want to make it real easy to swap out, skip the leather and use paracord with a cord lock on the end to cinch it up.

i like that, great idea. how wide is the strip of leather?

and where did you get the dubobberthingy on the end that finishes it?

Skunk,

It is 1 inch wide by 6 inches long. I picked up the paracord end at county.com

I have bought stuff from them several times and no problems, check out this link for some cool stuff. They have some nice 1/4 inch swedish fire sticks too.

I'll take it! How's it feel when chopping? And are you going to sell them?

:o I have yet to take it out to do anyting with yet. I have chopped with a paracord d-guard on it and I liked it.

I was just putting this one out there to show how easy it was to make, I dont really have any extra time to make any up. I am too far behind on sheaths right now to take anything else on.

Awww, booo! :thumbdn:;)

Great idea though, Chuddy. I bet that if you had the time you could charge 15-20 bucks for those and sell a bunch. I would take one.

Good luck with your next couple weeks before BLADE.

Great idea bro, it looks awesome and will be easy to make
