Can you tell the oldest? In this pic looks may be deceiving in more than one way :)

Yeah, Andy still occasionally uses metal pins, but not as often as he once did.

Ok, now which of the other three has a different handle material than the other two? :)

I believe your Woodsman and Bushboot are African Blackwood and the new Recluse is Micarta.

Great looking bunch.

Yep, spot on. Funny how similar they look, so perfect for me, but the Recluse is my new hunting knife and I wanted a synthetic for working with bloody things :)

Funny story on the HB. I really wanted a convex, but fell in love with the handle. Under the lights at Blade it looked more green than blue. Plus, I wanted more experience with the scandi grind on a well made knife. Well, first thing was I got home and showed it to the wife. Under the incandescent lights at home it looks blue...it is dyed blue box elder burl. Blue is my wife's favorite color...green is my favorite color. Then more and more I just prefer the convex grind for all around use. So, not thinking anything about it, I decided to sell that one to fund the purchase of one with a convex grind. Lisa about came unglued..."you're gonna do what?!!" I said I'm going to sell it. She said "for how much?" I said I don't know yet, depends on who, and how close we are. So she said, "ok, how much to a reeeally close friend?" I said, "well, I've had it for a year now, and even though it still looks great, everyone knows I've used it for a few projects and have beat on it some. To a reeeally close friend maybe $175.00 or $150.00". She said, "ok hold on a few minutes" left, went to the bank, came back and threw $150.00 on the table and said "since I'm your wife I suppose I should count as a really close friend, now leave my f_cking knife the h_ll alone!" She's a fiery little wench when she wants to be :) . It has been her favorite knife for the last two years and I get watched like a hawk every time I pick it up lol. The only thing she has asked is if it could be re-profiled to a higher grind, I keep telling her I don't know, ask Andy...

Nice! I think Tuxedo and Blackwood are my favorite handle configs. Right now I'm at two Tuxedos (Recluse and Bushboot) and one Blackwood (Ladyfinger). Maybe I'll actually take pics at some point.

I remembered looking at yours to see how the Blackwood looked when I picked up my EDKarda.

You should get watched like a hawk: it's her knife now ;) Just like I watch my wife when she uses one of mine.

I agree, I think the tuxedo and black wood both have a classy look and understated elegance to them. I liked the look of that tuxedo Hiking Buddy in the last batch a lot.

Yeah, admittedly I watch her like a hawk when she borrows any of mine :)

Dude, a hot girl with a knife... your knees must have quivered.

When I lived in Colorado there was a young girl that grew up at gun shows with her dad. She decided to go into the knife business so she put on leather pants, a shirt that showed her belly button, bright red lipstick and a bastard sword (Windlass I believe) She called herself knifegirl and Oh My how she drew the grungy old gunshow guys to her table! She would walk through the crowd and that big sword would knock into people and things but no one ever complained. I had made a double edged loveless style fighter and asked her if she would take it on consignment. She sold it in 30 minutes! I have a photograph of her in my tool box to this day holding one of my knives.... at some point I will scan it and put it on my webpage.

Yep. One of our early dates was a hot summer day rock crawling up the middle of north chcikamauga creek. I will never forget the sight of her soaking wet in relatively tight, and somewhat short, cargo shorts, a bikini top, and a short Ka-Bar in a drop sheath I made for her, as she made her way up the rocky creek. Very high on my list of all time favorite days!

Your friend sounds interesting, would love to see the photo!
