OK, it's time for me to eat a little crow...
Way back when I signed up here, I said something to the order of
"I don't think there is any reason to spend over $100 on a knife. You should get plenty of knife for $100. What's the point of having a knife that you're not going to use. yadda yadda yadda"
Someone, I really don't remember, it may have been Couger or Redleg...very kindly explained life as a knifeknut to me. I didn't understand, but we agreed to disagree.
Boy how times change

I found custom makers that fit within my spending range...I got a really good job with plenty of overtime...I've made lots of new friends here...
So now the low end factory stuff sits and the Livesay's, Doziers and now the Evans' come out to play

So....
YEAAASSS I have seen that light and it isn't the train, it is polished steel

Just keep saying to yourself,"It tastes just like chicken".

Yeah, know what you mean. Recently, while searching the forums for some info, I ran across an old thread where I said something to the effect that I couldn't possibly justify spending $100 for a knife just because I wanted it.

Who was that guy?

And what better reason to buy a knife?

Let no one ever from henceforth say one word in any way countenancing war. It is dangerous even to speak of how here and there the individual may gain some hardship of soul by it. For war is hell, and those who institute it are criminals. Siegfried Loraine Sassoon

"Who was that guy?"

Exactly!

Now if my Livesay Sanbar Bowie would just get here...
I must say, knives are much easier to sneak past the wife than fishing rods

Ebbtide out.

It takes quite a person to admit that in front of 10,135 registered users.

I think I always qualified those remarks with something like "I can't see spending over $300 on a knife RIGHT NOW"
Well in case I didn't, where's the crow buffet start?

A syllogism is a logical statement in three parts.
This is not a syllogism.

Be very careful. You may view knives as art one day. (even the ones you use)

I think we all have had a tast of this crow.

I also still like my lower cost stuff. Opinel, Schrade, and Mora are just too good to pass up. :0

Please don't take me the wrong way....
There will always be a special place for my "old soldiers" Especially my Schrade Sharpfinger and my little Buck FB (the steak knife sized one) We have been around the block a few times together.
I'm sure they will still come out to play!
Funny how a couple of years changes things, though
