has anyone ever made ebay as your part time job. i was reading a book about how you can buy and sell on ebay and make a few bucks. Has anyone ever done this, and is it worth the effort?

About 20% of my income last year was made on eBay. I have found it is an excellent tool if you can find a niche. My specialty is selling mammoth ivory to knife makers and my own original artwork. I ended up paying about 10% to eBay and Pay Pal. The fees took a big jump here a week or so ago. My advice is to find something to sell that is unique.
It is now very easy to list an item. It takes a lot of trial and error but with experience it is not hard to make a living on EBay.

My wife makes alot of money selling on Ebay (four figures per week). Don't think it is easy though. It takes quite a few (20+) hours per week just on the computor, and thats not counting drive time and time packaging and at the post office. It is a full time job.

There are also people who troll ebay just looking to see what is selling hot. Once they find your item is going good, they copy and under cut you. Once they kill your business they move on to the next product. So find something that is unique and hard for anyone else to get or produce.
