Spotted some belts on ebay. No bids. Probably because they are in the wrong section (not industrial abrasives).

The width isn't listed so I emailed. They said they are 2.5" x 72 60 grit AO. Not quite the same dimensions that most of us use, but easy enough to trim - or just have 1/4" overhang.

I wouldn't be telling anybody if I bid, but I don't use AO belts.

Heck, 40 belts for $25 - somebody's gonna want them.

Itrade, I see nothing to indicate approximate shipping cost within the lower 48. Did you? I see something about international.

Roger

It's down at the bottom below the actual listing.

United States Shipping and handling US $12.00

But even with that, that's still less than a buck a belt, which is as cheap as I've ever seen 2x72(or 2.5x72, to be technical)

Thanks etp77,

Yeah, I think there is a few hours left in the bidding. Sorry I didn't see that shipping cost. Sometimes I get in a hurry and scan over things several times without seeing what's there. If any of us is interested in me putting in a short bid and if it wins I'll split them with him right down the middle and I'll ship his half myself at no extra cost (lower 48). I don't think I want the whole lot since they need split to proper size but I wouldn't mind having twenty at that cost.

Roger

sure, ill split em with you. would be good for roughing out stuff at any rate (even w/out resizing them)

Somebody got them. Hope it was one of us.

Earlier I found some Norton 2.5" x 72 500 grit belts. Paid about a 1.75 each after shipping. I don't know who generally uses 2.5" belts, but it doesn't look like most folks get these. I was the only bidder.

Steve

I got them. It worked out to about $1.025 a belt. I dont mind the extra width as I am planning on using them for roughing out handle materials and such. For blades I use Norton Hoggers and Norax belts.

Thanks for the heads up!!!

If one of winners would ask him what these belts are normally used for, I'd be interested in his answer. Because I"ve also seen these 2.5" on occasion, but never in any catalog(regular tool, knife, or any of other wierd ones I've looked at) have I seen a 2.5x72 grinder. So just outta curiousity, interested in who normally uses these.

I'll pass on this one. Tapped out today buying stuff for my (YES!!!) home built variable speed, reversable, 8 inch, double shaft double buff buffer.

I didn't bid on the last set of belts because I slept through the deadline . Sorry'bout that but sure am glad one of us got them.
