I'm starting the year off with a clean shop! I'm getting rid of everything that I haven't used in the past year...I figure that if didn't use in in 2004....then I'll just be tripping over it again in 2005.

Starting today and continuing for the next few weeks....I'm putting things up for auction online.

By the time its done...I hope to make some room.

Happy New years!

Sincerely,
Rob

what shape is the lathe in? Can I get it in my basement or is it really heavy? Really heavy is more than 900 pounds. I have been looking for a decent lathe for a while but can't find one local. But you are local enough.

Let me know what you are looking to get for it if you could and its condition.

Good Lord! what'er ye useing?? that's better I mean... and what horse is the bader?? reversable?? variable speed??

regards, mitch

That is kinda dirty. Got my mouse finger twitching and everything. If any one finds out where the auctions are, don't tell everyone, just me

Sorry guys.... my original post needed to be edited to remove the advertising/commercial content. I stepped out of line with the rules of the forum on this one....I should have known better.

Hee hee...Mitch, I have a few KMG's in the shop that I prefer to use over the Bader. The Baders are fantastic machines...truly very nice.....however in my opinion, when you compare it side by side with the KMG...with the same setup....I prefer the KMG. I feel that I can say this because I have both of them side by side where I've taken the time to carefully study them in the same enviroment. So, in my opinion, based on side by side comparison, I think the KMG is better than the Bader.

Sean, I think my 9" South Bend lathe is heirloom quality. I've had a variety of small lathes...but never anything as un-used and tight as this one. These machines are classics. I hope to post it in a few days.

I'm using my wife's auction account user name: "mtford" Honestly, I didn't purchase the doily set :D

I did a search on E-Bay for mtford and didn't find anything. It asked if I meant mitford. I didn't see any type of machinery on mitford though.
