Ok so I probably did something stupid and impulse bought an Umnumzaan on eBay and I've never owned a CRK do I'm not too sure what to look for on a counterfeit vs a authentic. Doing a visual reference from the ad pictures it looks good, the logo and Idaho made is hard to see, but there is definitely something there. Also referenced a few forum threads for stuff to check.

Anyone have experience buying higher end knives off eBay? Any suggestions on whether I messed up or not?

Welcome to BF !!!!!!!
It looks authentic, once you get it, make sure it has the date stamp on the slabs. It should be stamped on the inside of the slabs toward the lanyard end.
The problem with buying from individuals from ebay is that if they're not familiar with the product, they could be selling a fake and not know it. I've bought from there in the past, but I'd much rather buy from here and support these members.
Post some pics when you get it and enjoy your CRK !!!!!

You may want to remove the link for where it was bought since it's not allowed to post a link to a non supporting member.

I removed the link, sorry about that. I will check for the stamp when it arrives. I look at the sale threads for that knife and they seem to go too quick for me to send a message.

Thanks for the help though. I will update when I receive it.

Well I got the knife in today, really quick shipping. But I believe its authentic luckily, perforated washers and stamp on the inside of handle. The only issue is that it was dull, but I put it on my KME and resolved that.

Btw, do you think it it was a stupid thing to do now that you have it in hand ;)

'Grats on the new Umnumzaan!

While there's nothing inherently wrong with buying knives off eBay (although there's probably a greater likelihood of purchasing a fake if one doesn't know what they're doing - and I'm not saying you don't ), it's definitely fairly far down on my list of retailers/places to buy knives from (re:never) for me personally. My preference is to buy from authorized dealers and retailers so I know I'm getting what I'm paying for, which also cuts back on my paranoia coincidentally! If you live in the US, or even in NA, there are plenty of authorized dealers to choose from, some of which even support this site!

Glad it all worked out for you in the end however!

There's another risk in buying off eBay -- eBay is a popular place to sell stolen merchandise.

A thief stole dozens of knives from me. I caught her selling them on eBay. The police took her away in handcuffs.

I immediately notified eBay -- which did nothing.

If you call them, you will get people in overseas call centers who give fake names and fake answers.

If you write them, they will probably not respond.

eBay may or may not cooperate with police and prosecutors.

Buying on eBay means you risk buying either fake or stolen items.

There are are a few CRK Authorized dealers on EBay so that’s something to look for. I bought my small Sebenza from Action-Concepts.
