Ebay Fake Sebbie.

these things are all over the place on B2B Marketplaces such as Alibaba. Its getting crazy with all the different styles from Regulars, to 21's, and with all types of inlays now. In addition, Russia sent over 50 tons of mammoth ivory to China last year...with that type of flooding it will only be a matter of time before we see a replica mammoth ivory/bark sebenza on the market at insanely low prices.

This is heartbreaking. Somebody who isn't familiar with a Sebenza could easily be fooled at this point.

It's a shame. All we can do is report these things. Since it doesn't have Chris reeve in the description will eBay allow it?

In this regard imitation is not flattery but a typical Chineze knockoff. It reminds me of the scene in Labyrinth where Jennifer Connolly is in what appears to be her room but in reality pure junk.
The slimy little critters will repackage manure and sell it as baby food.
Be vigilant!
And thanks to Too Solid for pointing this out!

We all need to keep ontop of what is going on with these fakes, it's not just CRK that are getting told to pull their socks up here either. I'm no less bothered about the other knives but CRK is just my company of choice.

Short of storming the factories with spacial forces and destroying them there is nothing more we can do than share information between members of the community. To say this stuff pisses me off is an understatement but I know CRK, Hinderer, ZT and the rest must be boiling dry over this.:thumbdn:

I'm familiar with Sebenzas (own 2 of them, and 2 other CRKs) and I CAN'T tell it's a fake just by looking at the pictures. Maybe if I handled it I would notice higher tolerances or a thicker handle. But the "Sebbie" in the pictures in that particular item look real to me.

This is heartbreaking. Somebody who isn't familiar with a Sebenza could easily be fooled at this point.

i'm glad threads like this exist, and not shut down. I'm sure if these were around when i was first looking, i wouldn't have known i got ripped off until it was too late.

The rainbow anodizing on the thumbstud and lanyard pin on the knife in the OP is a dead giveaway. There are grind marks on the blade, and the plunge line is all wrong. The plunge line on a real Sebbie is much further back on the blade, and goes behind the scale.
