Ebay sillyness re: Black Inlay Native

You forgot to mention that he was asking $225 for an opening bid. Not bad considering the MSRP is only $132.95 for the inlay Native!!! Who does this guy think he's fooling??? Now he just listed another one for $165.00!!!

And this is the fourth one I've seen him do this with.5-4-3-2-1- and another one just born

Someday my friends ,I'll own them all

his feedback is running around 15% neutral &/or negative. I've bought & sold & traded on auction sites for 4 years. Their income is generated by the sellers. I've taken out a half dozen crooked sellers/traders and discovered that the sites don't care. the sites let them back on even when they are shown that the person is a repeat offender.
Caveat emptor!

I wonder how long these auction sites will last. I know the percentage of fraudulent sales is somewhat low, but how much will it take before the general public decides it is not worth the risk anymore? I have never and will never use one of these sites just because, with a few exceptions, there is nothing on them that is not obtainable somewhere else for approximately the same cost. Most knives auctioned on Ebay end up selling for roughly the same price as a reliable internet dealer thanks to the "reserve" set by the seller. There is no risk to the seller, only the bidder. I have been tempted by some nice customs I have seen, but not enough to gamble $400 or more on whether or not the seller is ligit.

Subscribers to "Forbes" magazine periodically get an additional magazine called "ASAP". The most recent issue has an article describing some of the tactics that unscupulous buyers AND sellers use to scam on eBay. The URL is:

The only way to pay is with USPS MO. Cost is less then a buck and the trip to the PO, but it suddenly makes ripping you off a fedral offence (mail fraud). And the US gov't will follow up your claims. Not bad considering the largest MO you can even get is for $500. If your going to play, play safe, and do your homework.
Best of luck to us all,
E
