That's a great buy. What you have there is a Shop 1 khukuri, convex edge and all.
 
Damn! And old 15" Shop 1 BAS with std. bolster and scrolled buttcap. Was there a problem with it? That is about half what it should have gone for anyway. You did good there Andy. Congrats. :thumbup:

HI was spelled Himilayan Imports, so it wasn't easy to find. I think that's why I got it. From JP, no less. What an honor.:)
 
Whenever I check out ebay, I always start off with a search for "himalayan import". The advice about using common misspellings comes to mind. Good snag.

It arrived today. I'll try to get some pics, but our camera here is skitzie and not promising anything. It is a sweetie. Very nice handle, slim and well carved. My first sirupate, i think its a sirupate because its not as wide at the belly as my BAS, at 15" very nice. Thanks John. This will be a prised treasure.

I would bet it's a BAS Andy. The frog and the sword of shiva and the blade dsign all say BAS, plus a siru would be thinner I think. Still, that's just my opinion; I could be wrong. ;) I envy you getting something owned by John in any case. :thumbup:

Thanks for the information Norm. I feel totaly honored to have this. He said it was a gift from Uncle Bill too. I'm blown away at my luck. I'll just stand in the road and wait for a mack truck to hit me. Can't get any better than this. Its just a shame I never got to know Uncle Bill until he was gone. John sent me the neatest e-mail about him. I feel like I must be doing something right.
