Hi everybody..

I am new to this forum..seems like a great place to discuss the love of knives. I recently got a brand new benchmade vex nice for $21 bucks new and in the package...What's the best score anyone ever got when buying a knife on ebay?

Welcome to Blade forums. I think you will like the enthusiasum here for the sharp things. I would have to say that my best, holy crap I can't believe I got this that cheap, knife from that site, is a 7" Wild Bill Caldwell forged dagger for $247. I'm still pinching myself over that one.

I got a few good deals on Ebay. I kind of started buying uncontrollably. Probably the best ddeaal was the Spyderco Byrd knife which has become my EDC this week! I have a Benchmade EDC, but I kind of like having this cheap workhorse right now.

You can always score a nice Victorinox knife on ebay from the T.S.A. (airport) confiscations...

Hope it was not yours!:D

Vics or Leathermans are the best bargains you can get on eBay. The TSA confiscations make sure there are a lot of quality Vics and Leathermans up for low prices.

Don't get Spydercos/Benchmades from TSA confiscations though. They always look dirty. :)

+1 to that! Bought 100 of those suckerz one time for something retarded like $85. Sold a bunch to friends for $2 or 3 a pop, gifted many and still had them coming out of my ears after making my cash back!

I bought a G10 Harpy on there for a newly listed buy it now of $30 & a Persian for $50!

Looking through completed listings, I once saw a guy get a $300 (retail) turq kopa for a new listed BIN of .99!!!! I sent him a message asking if it was for real and he said though seller made a listing error, he lived up to it. The buyer did end up giving him an extra $50

All kinds of deal to be found on open auctions and newly listed buy it nows where sellers dont quite know the value of their stuff.

I like e-bay for the odd things. Example: a 1940's through 50's camp knife made from an unknown high speed steel from a blade marked "...iffin " surrounded by a saw blade shape, all stamped. It also has the words "high speed steel" stamped in it. The back has a fish scaler, and the grips are red and then black compressed fibre washers ( there is a name for these, I forgot)

The knife takes a really amazing edge. It would likely whittle a hair if I could hold one, and it has a carbide feel to the edge like tungsten steels, best way I could describe it.

Having had around 8 M2 knives, and currently with 6 M4 knives I'd say it's not either one of them.

It's thin, and will flex though not as much as a fillet knife.

This might have been made in someone's garage for all I know. It has given me much more than my money and efforts satisfaction out of it ( less than $40 in it)

To me, this is what e-bay is for. Finding strange and rare stuff.

$36 Spyderco Ladybug 3 H1 version including shipping to the otherside of globe with insurances. CRKT Sting with $21 including shipping into Finland. Now that's fun and nice throwing knife / boot dagger ^^

Victorinox Tinker $12 + $5,99 with sipping and insurance.

My treasure days are just head of me ^^

Old Buck 503. 440C blade with burgandy micarta scales. It's become one of my favorite knives and I picked it up for $12 shipped.

I missed a mother of pearl Queen stockman (I think the blades were D2) by 50 cents at the last second to one of those idiots using snipe programs (ebay should ban every last one of them). Had I won it, I would have paid $22. I put in my bid with 45 seconds to go. Got up to get my wallet to pay for it and sat back down and hit refresh. It said I had been out bid. Losing an auction is one thing... but to lose one to a computer program really pissed me off.

Bladeforums!! Seriously there are many here who give up great deals- I have gotten big name makers knives for around $200 when they command $7-800 new. Keep your eye out and your credit card locked up. Welcome aboard.

Besides ebay..were are the best place to score a good deal on a good knife?

Truly, you will find good deals here on the exchange, private and dealers as well. I enjoy ebay also. I bought an Al Mar Stainless steel scale folder for $26. It had aprox 1/16" broken off the tip. I grinded down the spine and polished it, and you can not even tell. I thought I did a good job on the mod. It will whittle hair, and the tip is dangerous. I was tickled with my score. It gets worse, just wait.:D
