Anyone using one of the Eberlestock packs?

Seriously considering getting one of the front loader models to use for both for Spike Camp hunting and longer term wilderness packs for longer training excursions.

Curious about how well it secures a rifle while hiking and how well it carries the weight. Curious how accessible/inexcessible the compartments are laid out. Also how well it hides a rifle if I'm wanting to pull the pack out of the vehicle to take into a motel without advertising "look there is a gun here dudes".

Anyone have input?

ummm... depends on the gun? my ar fits but my 700 really sticks out of mine.... i got a hunting pack model so i cant say for sure how there all nylons work out... i havnt taken mine for long just got it , but it carrys a 40 pound load extreamly easy. i got the dragonfly

i like mine but this will be her first year out ... i got used to packing gear tubes etc so the dragonfly was a great one for me... i know plenty of people taking around a half track and love em.... defiantly good stuff.

Im a huge believer in Eberlestock products. Im in afghanistan right now and i carry the eberlestock half track, my buddy who is RTO carries the fac-track. Both packs are Very comfortable and quite reasonably priced. I actually started a thread awhle back aobut why there was so little discussion of them on this forum. I havent really heard anyone give anegative review of any of them.

The sniper teams of the unit we replced used the tactical dragonfly packs so id assume the gun crrying system works reasonably well even tho i have never personally used one.

For what they cost I would expect they are top quality stuff like Kifaru and Mystery Ranch.

Just got the mini mi for starters and am saving for something bigger in the next couple of months. Extremely comfortable....Built like tanks..

Glen Eberle's shop is about a mile away from my place. He's a bangup guy, he started his company building biathlon products, specifically stocks, and his biathlon rifle stocks are unparred across the world. If you watched any of the olympics biathlon races I guarantee you saw 5 or 6 of his stocks. I'm the proud owner of a Phantom and a Operator. They are absolutely bombproof and there is not as much as a stitch out of place in the entire pack. They are adjustable in about every aspect and the fit is perfect. Very well balanced and organized as well, the way it rides on your shoulders and hips evenly destributes the weight and makes it feel like you're carrying half the load you really are. Both the main scabbard and the side scabbards that you can buy carry long rifles efficiently. I've carried everything from a 39 inch Ruger Frontier to a long action Rem700 Sendaro in it without a hitch. The length is adjustable with the cover on, and I think they said it will easily fit a rifle up to 52 inches long.
