Nice yin and yang forum knives. :) I hope your wife isn't upset that you removed the keys from the piano to use as the background for the photo. ;)

Beautiful pair.
The 2010 is my first of the forum knives .
Both would come in handy if anyone starts singing that song though:D

Here's a few paring knives made up from piano keys. Waste not want not ))))

Best regards

Robin

Very nice!

What did you make with the rest of the piano?? ;)

I considered taking it for the Mahogany, it was a Steinway with solid inch thick planks. Just didn't want to lift the thing on and off of my truck a few times. All they keys were there, real Ivory and Black ebony. I still have some of the keys, use the ivory for spacers in the Sami knives I put together.

Best regards

Robin

Robin that's great, I never thought of using the two together like that for a handle. I know what you mean about heavy, I moved this upright 3 times, I tried to sell it, donate it to a school and finally leave it in a friends driveway, I told him I had no idea where it came from but he didn't believe me so we loaded it for the last time.

Finally we took it apart in the bed of my pickup, I removed the keys, (didn't know that the ivory was just a veneer) and then threw the whole thing on the bonfire in the fire pit and watched the blaze. We were all betting on when the strings were gonna snap under all the tension and heat, forgetting all about basic metallurgy completely forgot that the strings would get hot and just stretch under heat and gravity. It was kinda anticlimactic considering we were expecting a huge explosion. The fire was really cool though and it made it easier to get all the brass hardware from the harp inside the piano with the wood all burned away. ;)
