this is my first tanto like this. the whole thing is held together with a bras pin and is SOLID

Blade: W2
Sheath: Gunstock tiger maple and ebony
handle: Ebony, and rayskin covered maple

As a fan of Japanese style blades and hamons I have to say that is a superb piece of work!!

I love it! I'm not a huge fan of rayskin (don't call me a traditionalist :D ), but I love the overall look. Of course I love blade steel, but one thing I really look at is the overall look of the sheathed blade. And this looks fantastic! The only thing I would possibly do different is to make the ebony accent at the mouth of the sheath a mirror image of the accents on the tanto's handle. Other than that, (and even with that....) beautiful.

Love that tiger maple.
